Well, last night found me in the RGDC McHauler making runs around the galaxy picking up ore. In a moment of flawed logic I decided to supplement our corporation's miners by purchasing ore on the market. I created very large buy orders (at a discounted price of course) and set a distance of 10 jumps from our headquarters. What I hadn't considered is that when you have 500,000 Dense Veldspar in a system 10 jumps away, it takes just as long retrieving the ore as it would just to mine it myself. Obviously mining the ore myself would have saved millions of dollars. If I want to do something like this again I need to increase my skills so that I can fly a ship with a bigger cargo hold than an Iteron II. If I was in an Iteron V and could cut down on the number of trips, the whole thing might cross the line into "good idea" territory.
After some mindless travelling through mainly high-sec space I put the McHauler away for the night and jumped into the RGDC Fighting Llama. I looked through the weapons and equipment on hand and came up with a fitting that I thought I liked. I didn't feel like doing missions so I headed to the local asteroid belts to say hello to my good friends of the Serpentis Corporation. The Fighting Llama and her drones didn't take long to run out of play-mates so off I went to the Haine system. After a few more asteroid belts full of idiot Serpentis pilots I decided that I'm not a big fan of the Vexor cruiser. Maybe it's because I've been flying battle-cruisers lately but the Vexor just seemed like an under-performer. I did however take a liking to the Haine system. Perhaps the corporation should consider moving it's headquarters there. After a swing through Perckhevin I headed back to Allebin and put the Fighting Llama away for the night.
As a side note: I approved an application last night and welcomed Dicez to the Red Guardian Defence Corporation.
